About
Learn about Proposed Groundwater Management Charge and upcoming Open House events
Five Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSA) oversee the Paso Robles basin and are responsible for complying with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and implementing its Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). Four of the GSAs collaborate through the Paso Robles Area Groundwater Authority (PRAGA) to develop programs and take actions that support long-term sustainability.
The PRAGA has a proposed rate structure that would apply to affected agricultural pumpers and commercial users. Rural, domestic users (i.e. de minimis users) will not be charged fees under the proposed rate structure. These rates will allow PRAGA to continue to manage the groundwater basin to bring it into balance. The County GSA recognizes there is a lot of related information to share and there are important questions people may have about how rates are calculated, who it applies to and more.
The County GSA is hosting a series of public open house events to address the important topics listed below. Join your GSA representatives for a conversation at one of the events listed on this postcard. We encourage you to attend, learn more about the following topics, and share your feedback.
